Maureen Morgan Kelley of Glastonbury, CT passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on 10/20/21. Maureen will be remembered for opening her home to many friends of her children and her amazing gift of cooking. She was an exceptional caregiver to many elders in the Jewish community whom she worked for, for many years.
When Maureen cooked for an event at the Beth Shalom B’nai Israel Synagogue, she emersed herself in the Jewish culture and made sure each event went off flawlessly paying attention to meal preparation, kosher foods and honoring their traditions.
In her earlier years, Maureen enjoyed spending her summers at The Ocean House in Watch Hill, RI where you could find her behind the bar making her famous “MO-garita.”
Maureen was predeceased by her mother, Mary Joseph O’Flaherty and her father Eugene Morgan of Manchester, her sister Diedre, “Dee-Dee” Morgan, her brother Kevin Morgan and her beloved son, Michael Shannon.
Maureen leaves behind her husband, Brian Kelley, her sons Sean and Cameron Kelley, her future daughter in law, Jackie Moquin and granddaughter Lydia Kelley, her stepdaughter Channing Courtney, her sister Kathy Gorman and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours for Maureen are Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at John F. Tierney Funeral Home 219 West Center Street, Manchester, CT from 9:00 am to 11:00am. Burial is at Crum Elbow Cemetery, 490 N Quaker Lane Hyde Park, NY 1:30-2:00.
