I am very sorry and sad to learn of Maria's passing. She was one of my best friends while growing up in the Ross Park neighborhood. I have many fond memories of Maria and the entire Muscatello family. I remember being disappointed when they moved across town and we would no longer be neighbors. Although we still shared some fun times, it became more difficult as the years went on and our lives went in different directions. When we had neighborhood reunions in 1989, 1997 and 1999, it didn't seem like it had been 20-30 years and our friendship still felt so natural. Maria was a very kind and compassionate person. I will be making a donation to "Friends of the Earth" in her name.
