Obituary of Paul Blain

Paul Coburn Blain, 72, lifelong Manchester resident, beloved husband of the late Jean (Dority) Blain, succumbed to a brief but fierce battle with cancer on May 31, 2023.  

Born in Hartford, May 2, 1951, to the late Paul and Doris (Aube) Blain, Paul was a graduate of Manchester High School class of 1969, and Manchester Community College.  Paul spent his working years in the car service business, beginning as a Volkswagen mechanic, and retiring from a Porsche and Audi dealership as Director of Service.  Paul had many hobbies and was spending his retirement golfing at Manchester Country Club, riding his E-bike all over town bike paths, playing pickleball, throwing horseshoes, boating, deep sea fishing, and spending time with friends and family.    

Paul leaves behind his daughters Jarica Golino of Vernon, and Brittany Covill and her husband Joseph Covill of Manchester; granddaughters Elizabeth Golino (16) Isabella Golino (15), Charlotte Covill (16) and Clara Covill (15).  Paul is survived by his sister Vivian (Blain) Whitestone and her husband Peter, his brother James Blain; and sisters-in-law and their husbands along with many nieces and nephews and dear life-long friends.  

Family and friends may call at John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center Street, Manchester, on Tuesday, June 6^th, 2023, from 4-7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 7^th, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Bartholomew Church, 736 Middle Turnpike E., Manchester, burial to follow at East Cemetery.
