I was so saddened to learn of the passing of Emily Cycenas. As a classmate of her son, John, at Verplanck School many years ago, I fondly remember Mrs. Cycenas bringing in delicious baked goods for special occasions. She was such a wonderful cook! Years later, Emily would help me whenever I purchased Mass cards at the Assumption Rectory. She was always warm, gracious, sensitive, and kind. Truly, she made the world a sweeter place. My heart goes out to her loving family as I hold them in comforting thought and prayer.
