So many mornings of getting report on the status of the patients on 3rd West. Doxie was a great nurse and had an intuition when something was about to go wrong. The luncheon group of nurses will be missing her humor. The last few years have been difficult for your family. My prayers are with you all. May all your memories comfort you in this time of sorrow. My dear friend through life since we were teens, Doxie accomplished it all without a brag or a boast. Her laughter and energy welcomed all who came her way. Her arms were always open. She will continue to keep a warm spot in my heart and bring a smile with a thought of her.

Mama was a very giving, selfless, caring and loving person. She was always giving of herself and had a great sense of humor that made everyone around her laugh. She and I would joke about the silliest things. We had a lot of fun together and I have so many memories of her that will never fade away. Mama, you helped me through my life’s journey and was my rock.
Mama, you accomplished everything you set out to do in your life, touched so many people and lived life to the fullest. Saying good-bye and letting you go was the hardest thing I had to do but you only asked us for one thing, “I want to go home.”. I’m so glad you’re resting peacefully now with your loved ones and I know you will watch over us and continue to live in our hearts forever.
Love Always, Velvet
